DENVER (KDVR) — Lone Tree police chased and arrested two suspects in a shoplifting case Tuesday after a single $600 item was stolen from a Dillard’s at the Park Meadows mall.

The theft was reported at about 6:17 p.m. on Tuesday, and officers were able to respond to the area quickly. The adult male suspect was seen running on foot west from the store where he approached an SUV, “forcibly removed a female from the driver’s seat” and drove away.

Lone Tree Police Department officers deployed a tire deflation device and one of the car’s tires slowly deflated as officers followed the vehicle. The driver lost control of the vehicle, which was traveling on three wheels at that point, near the intersection of Yosemite Street and East Panorama Circle in Arapahoe County.

The SUV ended up on its side, and officers took the male suspect into custody. Officers learned the male suspect had been with the female suspect, and also arrested her.

The suspects were identified as a 32-year-old man, who was charged with theft, motor vehicle theft and eluding in addition to a warrant for a previous eluding charges; and a 37-year-old woman, who was charged with theft, false reporting to authorities, possession of drug paraphernalia and several outstanding warrants.

The Lone Tree police said no one was injured in the incident.
