JT Dove, based in the North East, has been fundraising for the Children’s Heart Unit Fund (CHUF) at Newcastle’s Freeman Hospital for 10 years.
The partnership began in 2014 as part of the “Chuf ‘n’ Builders” project.
Since then, JT Dove has hosted a variety of fundraising events, with individual branches often spearheading their own initiatives.
Last year, the South Shields branch raised more than £3,000 with a sponsored walk and end-of-year raffle.
The yearly total of JT Dove’s fundraising efforts amounted to £33,847.44, bringing the grand total of all fundraising over the past 10 years to more than £250,000.
This year’s major fundraising events calendar includes the JT Dove Race Day, a football tournament called “Battle of the Branches”, a Whitby to Saltburn hike, and the company’s annual golf day.
A special winter event is also in the works to cap off this anniversary year.
In recognition of this long-standing commitment to charitable giving, JT Dove took home the ‘Corporate Charity Partnership’ award at the North East Charity Awards in 2024.
Michael Young, managing director at JT Dove, said: “Here at JT Dove, it has been our great honour to partner with CHUF for over a decade now, and the money that we have raised has gone to an amazing cause.

“The £33,847.44 that we raised in 2024 has pushed us over the £250,000 barrier, and this has just spurred us on to want to do more.
“Winning the Corporate Charity Partnerships prize at the 2024 North East Charity Awards is a testament to all of the colleagues at JT Dove who tirelessly get behind all of the events that we put on throughout the year, and I would like to give my sincere thanks to their continued effort, commitment and passion.
“Our mission continues to be supporting life-changing care for Heart Heroes here in the North East of England, and as we engage in our events: it is always with those Heroes and their families in mind.”
