Free name, gender marker change workshop in Pittsfield

PITTSFIELD, Mass. (NEWS10) — Berkshire Pride is hosting a free name and gender marker change workshop on Thursday, December 12 at 5:30 p.m. It will be at 34 Depot Street, Suite 207 in Pittsfield.

This legal workshop will be put on with the help of Attorney Jessie Fried, who will guide attendees through the legal steps for updating your name and gender marker. There will be information provided on the process as well as what the necessary documentation is and the resources available to support you.

Fried will answer any questions and offer guidance in navigating this process. There will also be a notary and Spanish language translator on-site.

Berkshire Pride also has a weekly after-school program on Mondays at the same location for empowerment and creativity among LGBTQIA+ students. Drop-in and free time is from 3 to 4:30 p.m., engaging activities begin at 4:30 p.m., and there is pizza at 5:30 p.m.
