CHICAGO — Authorities are asking for help in the search for a man who officers said vandalized a police vehicle in Wrigleyville in late October.
According to police, the incident unfolded around 2:26 a.m. in the 3500 block of North Clark Street in Lakeview.
On Thursday, police provided video, captured by surveillance cameras, which shows an individual approach a police vehicle that was parked in the area before pulling out a marker and drawing on the vehicle’s hood.
Officials are now seeking help in the search for the person responsible.
In the video, the perpetrator is seen wearing a tan hooded sweatshirt with black shoes and black pants.
The offender’s height and weight were not provided by police, but he can be seen in the video with short black hair and a goatee.
Officers want the public to never approach an assailant and instead work to remember any unique physical characteristics of the offender.
Police say those who fall victim or witness a crime should call 911 immediately and provide authorities with a detailed description of the offenders.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact CPD Area Three Detectives at 312-744-8263 or dial 911.
