At the North Kelvin Community Council meeting, a resident raised the issue with community police officers in attendance.

“In Glasgow, it’s everywhere.”
The cops asked if this odour was coming from the car parks.

The Glasgow man replied: “No, it’s on Byres Road and everywhere you go.
“It just struck me because I never smelled it in London.
“I know it’s different policies up here.”
The officer reassured attendees that people caught in possession of cannabis are charged in Scotland and said she personally has caught someone with as little as 0.1 grams.
She said: “It’s always criminal” and promised the force will keep an eye on the issue.
