DENVER (KDVR) — Denverites know the Mile High City has a lot of fun to offer, and now it’s being recognized as one of the most fun cities in the country in a recent report.
WalletHub named Colorado as the fifth most fun state and the financial services website recently named Denver as the No. 13 most fun city out of over 180 cities across the country.
WalletHub compared 182 cities, including the 150 most populated cities in the country plus two of the most populated cities in each state, based on 65 metrics to determine the most fun and cost-effective. The metrics revolved around three key dimensions including entertainment and recreation, nightlife and parties, and costs.
Naturally, the top of the list includes some popular tourist destinations.

Denver was not far from the top 10, coming in at No. 13 behind St. Louis and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The Mile High City ranked the best for its nightlife and parties at No. 13 and No. 16 for its entertainment and recreation.
Denver ranked low when it came to costs at No. 133, though that rank was higher than cities in the top 10 including Miami, San Francisco, Chicago and New York City.
The most cost-effective city on the list was Toledo, Ohio, which ranked at 109 for entertainment and recreation and 143 for nightlife and parties.
Colorado Springs came in at No. 70 on the list, ranking at 47 for entertainment and recreation, 87 for nightlife and parties, and 112 for costs.
Aurora ranked at No. 130 overall on the most fun cities in America list, ranking 134 for entertainment and recreation, 116 for nightlife and parties, and 104 for costs.
