CHICAGO (WGN) — A woman accused of shooting another woman during a fight on the city’s West Side this week is now facing a felony charge.
According to Chicago police, 22-year-old Natalie Hernandez has been charged with one felony count of aggravated battery with the discharge of a firearm.
Authorities said the charge stems from Hernandez’s alleged role in a shooting that broke out after a fight in Little Village on Monday afternoon.
Officers said the incident unfolded just after 6:30 p.m. in the 4300 block of West 25th Place.

Hernandez allegedly got into a fight with the victim, a 39-year-old woman, on the street in the area and during the altercation, offices said she allegedly pulled out a gun and shot the other woman.
Officers said the victim suffered gunshot wounds to her abdomen and buttocks and was later taken to the hospital in critical condition.
According to police, Hernandez was taken into custody just minutes after the incident unfolded.
Hernandez appeared in court for a detention hearing on Thursday.
Currently, it is unclear what led to the altercation and authorities have not provided any updates on the victim’s condition.
