SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A prolific San Francisco retail theft suspect charged in nearly two dozen separate incidents is being held in jail without bail, SF District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced Wednesday.
Miles Thomas, 26, is accused of 21 thefts that occurred between May 2024 and March 2025 at two Walgreens locations and one CVS location within the city. The DA’s office said Thomas “almost exclusively stole dental hygiene products.”
On Aug. 28, 2024, Thomas stole multiple items from Walgreens at 1344 Stockton Street and pushed an employee who was trying to stop him, prosecutors said. He then returned shortly after and again allegedly shoved an employee who was trying to recover merchandise.
San Francisco Police Department officers arrested Thomas on March 6 after he was caught stealing $135.55 worth of dental products from the CVS at 701 Portola Avenue, according to the DA’s office.
In each of the 21 retail theft incidents, prosecutors said employees identified Thomas as a habitual thief who often carried a skateboard and wore distinctive sunglasses.
Thomas pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to one count of second-degree robbery, two counts of second-degree commercial burglary, two counts of grand theft, 12 counts of commercial shoplifting and seven counts of petty theft with two or more priors.
A judge granted the DA’s motion to detain Thomas in jail pending trial and set no bail. His next court date is March 21.
