(KRON) — A shelter-in-place advisory is in place as the Hillsborough Police Department investigates a police shooting with a suspect that occurred in the police department’s parking lot on Saturday afternoon.
Police confirmed that the suspect remains at large.
The incident took place in the 1600 block of Floribunda Avenue. Officials confirmed that a Hillsborough police officer was shot by a suspect who had entered through the rear lot of the police building. Police said the injured officer was taken to a nearby hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
Hillsborough PD said there is a “large law enforcement presence” in the area.
The Burlingame Police Department advised residents at 5:12 p.m. of a shelter-in-place advisory until further notice. Residents are being told to stay indoors and lock all doors and windows.
People are urged to avoid the area of Floribunda Avenue and El Camino Real as police and tactical personnel conduct an active search operation for the suspect.
