Pedestrian critically injured in collision near U of O | CBC News


A man in his 20s was critically injured after being hit by a vehicle near the University of Ottawa Saturday morning, police say.

Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Laurier Avenue E. and Cumberland Street at around 6:45 a.m., the Ottawa Police Service said in an evening media release.

Paramedics took the man to hospital. His condition is considered life-threatening, police said.

A stretch of Laurier Avenue E. was closed after the man was hit, but it reopened around 2:15 p.m.

Police are asking anyone who saw the crash or may have captured it on their dashcam to come forward.
