The star’s death followed a long illness and was announced on Monday, March 3 as her friends took to Facebook to share an emotional tribute to Kathryn.
Former ITV Calendar presenter Christa Ackroyd described Kathryn as “lovely”, sharing: “Reunited with her beloved Richard.
“I will miss you so much my lovely friend.
“What adventures we had.
“The world will always be a duller place without you…”

Kathryn was the partner of former Countdown host Richard Whiteley from 1994 until his death in 2005.
The TV star released the book Richard by Kathryn: The Life of Richard Whiteley, which was published after his death from heart problems at the age of 61.

Sharing tribute to Kathryn, Ian White from ITV Calendar wrote: “Very sad news tonight about friend and former colleague Kathryn Apanowicz.”
Fans of the late star also shared tributes, as one said: “I was sad to hear that the presenter and actress Kathryn Apanowicz has passed away.

Kathryn also starred in the BBC programme Angels as well as EastEnders and ITV’s Coronation Street.
