Emergency services were called to Parkgate in Darlington this evening just before 5pm.
Pictures showed an ambulance and unmarked police car at the scene just after 5.10pm blocking the road.
It has now been confirmed that a pedestrian was involved in the crash – and one person has been taken to hopsital.

A spokesperson for North East Ambulance Service said: “We were called to a road traffic incident involving a car and pedestrian on Parkgate, Darlington at 4.58pm this evening.
“We dispatched a double crewed ambulance and one patient was taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital.”
