Alistair Griffin’s Ignite Concerts has organised the concert, featuring the singer and Ebor String Quartet on Saturday (March 15) in York’s Q Church in Priory Street, off Micklegate, with the venue set to be illuminated by the warm glow of candlelight.

Attendees can expect to be transported back in time with renditions of classics like She Loves You and Eleanor Rigby, all set within the enchanting ambiance of flickering candles.

Reflecting on the success of previous performances, Alistair Griffin said: “This show has been a huge success in incredible venues like Selby Abbey, Yarm, and most recently Ilkley. It’s an unforgettable evening, and this is a show not to be missed.”

Back in 2022 Alistair, who shot to fame on the BBC talent show Fame Academy in 2002, scored a number 5 hit with a track co-penned with his former mentor, BeeGee Robin Gibb.

Doors for the event will open at 6.45 pm, with the performance starting at 7.30 pm. A licensed bar will be available, allowing guests to enjoy refreshments throughout the evening.

For those looking for another magical candlelit experience, Ignite Concerts will also be hosting Candlelit Broadway at St Olaves Church on Sunday, March 30 — just in time for Mother’s Day. This special evening will feature stunning performances of Broadway’s most beloved songs by the Ebor Quartet, making it the perfect way to celebrate the occasion.
