Tram delays warning after ‘car on the tracks’

The Bee Network, which runs Metrolink and bus services across Greater Manchester, warned on the evening of Sunday March 16 that trams had to be cancelled on some lines.

The car was reported to be on the tracks at Event City.

A Bee Network statement said: “Due to a car on the tracks at Event City, no trams are operating between The Trafford Centre and Imperial War Museum. 

“Ticket acceptance is in place on the 248 and 250 bus services.”
The Bee Network issued further travel advice for people out in the city over Sunday evening.

It said: “To continue your journey by bus, please visit our journey planner. 

“Please select ‘options’ and check only the bus icon is highlighted.

“This feature is also available on the Bee Network app where you can also find bus tracking information.

“In addition to public transport, there are several destinations on this line that can be easily reached by walking.”

Members of the public have been advised to always call 999 in the event of an emergency as soon as it is safe to do so.
