Cuisine Marmaris, at 106 – 108 Parkgate, has been told urgent improvement is necessary after food safety officers visited the venue on April 3.
The takeaway, which boasts pizzas, burgers, kebabs, and parmesans on its menu, has previously been praised for its “absolutely beautiful” food.
One person even rated it as serving up “the best food in Darlington and beyond”.
Inspectors will have graded three areas at the inspection, including hygienic food handling, the cleanliness and condition of the facilities and building, and the management of food safety.

The Food Standards Agency has not yet published a breakdown of the scores given in each category, which range from “very good” to “major improvement necessary”.
Details regarding the full inspection also remain unknown at this time – but The Northern Echo has requested the full report from Darlington Borough Council.
Cuisine Marmaris has been contacted for comment.
