Four police cars and an ambulance were called to Croft Close in Annfield Plain shortly after 10am on Saturday (January 18).
A resident said: “I heard all the sirens and saw four police cars go past and was wondering what was going on. The dog unit was there too.
“Then the ambulance arrived and it took someone way.”
One person was taken to hospital and police left a short time later.
A spokesperson for North East Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 10.02am today (January 18) to a private address in the Stanley area. We dispatched a paramedic crew who took one patient to hospital.”
