Police investigating an attack in the city want to speak to this man

It’s believed that the incident occurred at around 2am on the Avenue, where a man was assaulted and received an injury to the head.

No arrests have been made and extensive enquiries have taken place.

Police have now released an image of a man they would like to speak to who may have more information about the incident.

Officers also urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who were in the area at the time to come forward.

Detective Constable Fiona Whitelaw from our City of Manchester district said: “Acts of violence such as this one have no place on our streets, and we will be working hard to ensure we find those responsible.

“I would urge anyone who may have been a witness to this incident, alongside anyone with any information to please get in touch.

“This could include CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage from around the time of the incident and captures something that looks suspicious.
