Sainsbury’s has urgently recalled three commonly used household items which the retailer has sold throughout its stores.

The household appliances have been urgently recalled due to worries that the items could pose a fire risk, MyLondon reports.

Customers are advised to check if the appliances they have purchased are impacted by the recall and if they are, customers are likely able to return them to their local Sainsbury’s store.

Below you can find details of three appliances being recalled by Sainsbury’s.

Nutribullet Go blender

Among the recalled items is the ‘Nutribullet Go’ rechargeable blender after the manufacturer informed Sainsbury’s specific units of its model NGB-100 are unfit for purpose.

The recall of the item comes primarily due to concerns that a battery defect in the model could overheat while charging and could pose a potential fire risk.

A notice on Sainsbury’s website reads: “A small number of units have been identified as having a battery defect that could overheat during charging, creating a potential fire risk.

“Please stop using the item immediately, and check if you have an affected product by locating the serial number on the base of the blender.”

Customers can find serial numbers of the affected products on Sainsbury’s website, however they are advised to also check Nutribullet’s website for further verification. Upon the Nutribullet website customers can also register to receive a free replacement for their own ‘Nutribullet Go’ blender.

A statement on Sainbury’s website adds: “We take the quality and safety of our products extremely seriously and would like to apologise to customers affected for any inconvenience this may cause. No other serial numbers are affected by this recall.”

Tower Air Fryer

Also included in the recall are three Tower-branded air fryers produced between January 2022 and April 2023 which are also believed to have a manufacturing defect that could cause them to become a fire risk.

Only products with SKU numbers of 141407023 and 139987372 are impacted by the Tower recall.

Customers can also find their product numbers and additional details at the bottom of their air fryers. The descriptions of those affected are:

  • TOWER 2. 2 LTR COMPACT AIRFRYER BLK (T17023)
  • TOWER 4L AIRFRYER BLK (T17061BLK)

A statement on Sainsbury’s website reads: “Once you have identified that your product is impacted. Please visit www.tower-safety.co.uk Link Opens in New Tab to see if the batch number means it is included in the recall.
