    Shelbourne have been crowned SSE Airtricity League Premier Division champions for the first time in nearly two decades.

    Harry Wood was the hero for Damien Duff’s team, grabbing a late winner from close range, as they beat Derry City 1-0 at the Brandywell.

    Meanwhile, Shamrock Rovers were 2-1 winners against Waterford as their four-year reign as champions came to an end.

    Dylan Watts and Johnny Kenny scored for the Hoops at Tallaght Stadium.

    St Pat’s can look forward to European football next season, after they won 2-0 at Sligo Rovers at the Showgrounds to finish third.

    Bohemians and Galway United played out a 1-1 draw and it ended 0-0 between Dundalk and Drogheda.
