Sanju Samson has revealed the message he got from Ravi Shastri before the start of his fine run in T20Is. Samson would score his second consecutive hundred against South Africa in the first match of the series in Durban on November 8, Friday to hel India win the match.
This has been a golden period for Samson as an opener, and it all began when he scored 111 against Bangladesh in Hyderabad. The India batter would say that he had a chat with Shastri before the match and the former India coach said that all he needed was a big hundred and he would be fine.
“I remember him talking to me before the Bangladesh game in Hyderabad. He was like, ‘Sanju! You just need that one big hundred. I am telling you. And you will be fine.’ I think we are happy it happened and I am happy for everyone,” said Samson.

Samson would say it was too early for him to analyse the how special the hundred was against South Africa and would only be able to express his true feelings on the following day.
“I think it is too early to feel how special it is. Maybe if you ask me tomorrow, I can tell you how excited I am and happy I am,” said Samson.
Samson also felt that the intent really helped him during his knock.
“There is not enough time in T20s to have a look and go at it. So atleast, the intent really helped. We definitely are the world champions,” said Samson.
Samson puts South Africa to the sword
Samson would attack the Proteas bowlers from the get-go as he tore them apart with his destructive batting. The Indian wicketkeeper scored 7 boundaries and hit 10 sixes on his way to his 2nd T20I hundred and helping India put on 202 runs on the board.
South Africa would crumble in their run chase and were eventually bundled out for 141 runs. The second match of the series will take place on November 10.
