Singer and songwriter d4vd left Coachella fans shocked as a backflip went horribly wrong – faceplanting the floor as the stunt went awry.
This came as the musician, 20, took to the stage at the Gobi stage for this weekend’s festival, where he performed his hit song Leave Her.
D4vd (pronounced ‘David’) rose to fame in 2021, making video montages of the popular videogame Fortnite – releasing his own music via SoundCloud to avoid infringing copyright.
Making it big with the viral single Romantic Homicide, he was signed onto a record label in 2022, and reached number 60 on the Billboard Hot 100 with his next single.
Making his Coachella debut this weekend, the star – who appeared on the cover of NME Magazine in 2023 – was left red-faced after some attempted fancy footwork went wrong.
Instead of the attended backflip, d4vd instead landed on his back, writhing in apparent pain as his audience of thousands looked on with shock.

Taking to X afterwards, d4vd shared a video which showed the exact moment disaster struck – his foot slipping as he attempts the backflip.
However, he wasn’t deterred for long – the star climbed back on his feet to finish off the set, even (successfully) attempting more flips moments later.
He seemed to reference the moment on X afterwards, posting an image of a reflective-looking dog with the caption: ‘humiliation ritual complete… see u next week coachella i love u’

As the moment went viral on social media, fans shared their thoughts on d4vd’s tumble.
‘Yikes! That was painful to watch. Wonder if he’s going to rethink keeping that move in the show. 😬’ said JDoza1.
‘😬 I’ve done moves like that a few times in my life. The embarrassment is worse than the pain 😂😂😂🤷♂️ Hope he’s ok 🙏🙏🙏’ wrote oscarwhittierca.
‘😫😫😫😭 I KNOW i would’ve instantly lost consciousness, oh my God 😢’ said uThembisa.
‘if i was in your situation i would run away from the stage and delete my all social media accounts,’ joked keseipeilish.

Embarrassment or no, the musician can’t afford to shy away from the public now – with his debut album set for release on April 25.
The artist shared the news in February with an Instagram post, writing: ‘Thank you all eternally for waiting on me. This album means SO much to me you have no idea the blood sweat and tears that came with trying to create this project over the past 2 years.
‘Constantly starting over and over and over until there was nothing left on this audio landscape of a canvas than thoughts, melodies, and emotions that were unequivocally me.’
