Bayern Munich boss Vincent Kompany shuts doubters after UCL win: We keep going

Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany silenced his critics with a commanding 9-2 victory over Dinamo Zagreb in the UEFA Champions League. The emphatic win came at a crucial time, as Kompany had faced widespread skepticism following his appointment to lead one of Europe’s most prestigious football clubs. After a challenging tenure at Burnley, many doubted whether Kompany had the credentials to manage at Bayern’s level.

Despite the noise, Kompany has remained unfazed. In a post-match interview, he acknowledged the criticism but downplayed its impact, stating that he had faced far greater obstacles throughout his career as both a player and a manager. His resilience, he explained, was rooted in his experiences, which prepared him to deal with the intense pressure that comes with managing a top club.

“I’ll tell you something in a quick way just to prove a point…I was born in Brussels, my dad was a refugee who came from Congo. What are my chances of even playing in the Premier League, winning something as a player, playing for the national team? The odds were 0.000 something. Now I’m a coach,” Kompany said.

“Do you just stop believing in yourself and what you can achieve because of what other people say? The mentality is to keep going and in the end, if you fail, you fail, if you succeed, you succeed. But you can always become better. Online you can always find stuff, so I really don’t take it personal,” Kompany added.

Under Kompany’s leadership, Bayern Munich have enjoyed a flawless start to their Bundesliga campaign, winning all three of their opening matches. This perfect league record has placed them at the top of the Bundesliga table, and their stunning Champions League performance against Dinamo Zagreb only added to their growing momentum.

Kompany’s tactical acumen and leadership qualities are beginning to shine through, with his Bayern side not only dominating domestically but also making a bold statement in Europe. The 9-2 victory underscored the attacking power and defensive solidity Kompany has instilled in his squad, quieting any lingering doubts about his suitability for the role.

As Bayern Munich continue their season, the early signs suggest that Kompany is more than capable of leading the club to success on multiple fronts, both in the Bundesliga and the UEFA Champions League.
