NEW DELHI: India’s star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant is currently on a brief break following his return to Test cricket in the recently concluded two-match series against Bangladesh.
India clinched the series 2-0, with Pant marking his comeback with a brilliant century in the second innings of the first Test in Chennai. This performance was a highlight for the 26-year-old, who returned to his favorite format after the serious car accident he suffered in December 2022.
After his impactful comeback, Pant has been rested for the ongoing three-match T20I series against Bangladesh, allowing opportunities for Sanju Samson and Jitesh Sharma to showcase their skills.
Pant is expected to return for the Test series against New Zealand, which begins on October 16 in Bengaluru.
Meanwhile, Pant has been making public appearances and interacting with fans. On Friday, Star Sports shared a video of him taking selfies with fans during an event in Bengaluru. The broadcaster captioned the video: “When Rishabh Pant pulls out the camera, it’s not just a selfie, it’s a whole celebration!”
